Snake River Valley Bass Club

TIBF 2007

Newsletter update.

Welcome back to the SRVBC news section.

It has been a while since we have any updates so let’s see what we can remember.  Please be patient with me while I work on the updates and the various information for the next couple months.

Hope this finds all members well and enjoying their families, fishing and having fun these were the 3 main goals of The Idaho Bass Federations at the beginning of the 2007 season.

So many events to recall since March of 2006 the last time we had anything on the web page thanks to Dave and Tobi Evans for the help that they gave to the club on various activities, open tournament, and all that they did.  THANKS

SRVBC has had members that were on the BASS state team that were at Oregon West Divisional were they won 1st place the members were:  Boyd Golightly, Curtis Mac Fee, and Josh Unruh Congratulations for a job well done.

The same week The Idaho Bass Federation (TBF/FLW) hosted the Western Divisional at Lake Lowell in Nampa Idaho, this was the first divisional for the TBF and it went very well with the support of many of the members assisting Gary and other state officials to make it a success.  The SRVBC members that were on the team were Dave Vega, Len Nicholson, and Gary Keith alternate again congratulations and thanks for representing SRVBC so well throughout the Western United States.

In June we had the Phil Meador SRVBC Open at Milner it was a great turn out and all that was there had a great time and enjoyed great food and raffle and again the SRVBC social time was a success.

The State of State club championship was held at C. J. Strike and Dave Evans and Jeff Gibson represented SRVBC fishing was tuff in the wind but they did well.

At the end of September the East Qualifiers were completed and again the SRVBC members fished great the following made the 2007 TBF state team:  Butch DeForest, Dave Evans, Jeff Gibson, and Max Adams.  In October we lost Max Adams it was a very difficult time for all members of the Bass world that knew him.  With his vacancy on the team that moved up Josh Unruh.  On one of the team shirts that the team wore at Moses Lake Washington it had In Memory of Max Adams so he was and still is in the hearts that have fished with him.

Idaho started out very well at the Western Divisionals an especially hard third day they struggled and went from 1 to 3.  But the members were proud to bring home the awards and the stories to share with others.  Karen and Trina helped take the other ladies on tours and so many new friendships were discovered and a plan to reunite and shop in Salt Lake prior to the holidays.

Two members from SRVBC were the state team alternates, President of the Idaho Bass Federation Gary Keith and Karen Keith was alternate #2.

Thanks to the club we had a 10 person team to fish November at C.J Strike a good time was had by all that attended.

November was the State Banquet and this year it was hosted by the Magic Valley area and was at the Golf Club in Twin Falls everyone had a great time and enjoyed good company meeting the new state team and being picked by Gary and Karen with fun gifts and prizes.  The Juniors Mike Walsh Jr. and Anthony Alvalos were great sports and assisted any way that they were needed.

That gets us to the new year 2007 and the SRVBC annual banquet at the Elk’s Club in Blackfoot the food was wonderful and the award time and raffle was fun everyone enjoyed the evening the club honored Max with a presentation of the replicate Bass Fish that was given to Helen and the family this was a beautiful fish.

It was time for the state boater/ nonboater state championship at Milner SRVBC representatives were Dave Evans, and Wes Blattner.  Wes did exceptionally well and advanced to the next level at Moses Lake.  Wes did go to Moses Lake and represented SRVBC and Idaho well he was crowned the champion non boater earning him the right to go in December 2007 to the BassFan tournament we wish him lots of luck.

As mentioned earlier the SRVBC sent several to the Western Divisional at Moses Lake where Idaho placed 3rd.

In May The Idaho Bass Federation youth had there championship and SRVBC had the winner in the 11-14 age bracket Logan Evans fished great and then he won him a spot to participate at the National Guard World Jr. Championship in conjunction with the FLW Cup at Hot Springs AK.  After spending a week with the pros and all of the other fishing dignitaries Logan will have many wonderful memories.

I hope we didn’t miss anyone it wasn’t intentional but it has been a while since we have had a newsletter.

Please enjoy the remainder of the 2007 and remember the three main things are Fishing, Family and FUN!!

Thanks

Karen J
